Sustainability

Renewable resource

Besides being renewable and helping to reduce the greenhouse effect (because it is the only material that absorbs and retains CO2 from the atmosphere), wood, when well cared for, is very resistant and reusable. Used in structures, floors, walls, and roofs, it has a wide range of applications in civil construction, as well as decorative applications, which expand its functional and aesthetic uses.

Knowing its origin is fundamental when buying the product. A conscious consumer needs to have an idea of the whole process to know whether he is helping to combat deforestation or contributing to the destruction of nature.

Sustainable forest management

Responsible wood is the fruit of sustainable forest management. This practice follows the concept of reduced impact exploitation, bringing together conservation principles that ensure its renewal and maintenance. For this, a management plan is made, which must be approved by environmental agencies and be by 3 principles: to be ecologically correct, socially fair, and economically viable.

Essential to man as shelter, transportation, and furniture, wood, when well cared for, is extremely resistant and can be reused in several ways.

Chain of custody

CRAS Madeira has a chain of custody certification. This guarantees that the raw material comes from certified forests or controlled origin and that its extraction is done by a forest enterprise that is also certified. In addition, all of its routes are tracked until it reaches the consumer.

The benefits of traceability are:
1) Control the production chain;
2) To inform the client about the origin of the raw material;
3) Transparency in the processes;
4) Minimize costs;
5) To improve the efficiency of the processes;
6) To prevent recurrence of failures;
7) Guarantee sustainability.

By choosing certified products, you help take care of forests, people, animals and the whole world.
