Commercialization of crude and refined glycerin and bovine tallow
Brazil is the third-largest producer and consumer of biodiesel in the world and CRAS actively participates in its production chain, supplying soybean oil for the internal market and exporting the GLYCERIN, obtained through it, to the external market.
Besides being applied in different industries, the BOVINE BULK is a strategic material in the production chain of biodiesel and, therefore, is becoming a commodity increasingly valued in the market.
Glycerin is a non-toxic compound that can be used in several industries. In the pharmaceutical industry, it is used in the composition of capsules, syrups, and ointments. In chemistry, it is used to manufacture paints, varnishes, and detergents. In cosmetics, it is used as a moisturizing agent and helps in the diffusion of water and oil emulsions.
In the tobacco industry, it makes the tobacco fibres more resistant and prevents the leaves from drying out. It is also used to soften and increase the flexibility of textile fibres, among other applications in various segments.
The bovine tallow is seen as a strategic material in the production chain of biodiesel, with the current participation of about 13% of the global production of this biofuel in Brazil. A source of lipids, it is also used as an ingredient in the animal feed industry and cosmetics, detergents, and soaps.
It is present in animal feed, mostly for poultry and pig farming, and partly in pet food. In the cosmetics industry, it helps to avoid the excessive use of chemical products, besides improving the absorption of hydrating agents and carrying important vitamins for the skin. In the detergent and soap industry, it is used in products for cleaning clothes and dishes.
